Committees
Cattle Health & Well-Being Committee
Responsible for providing direction on animal health challenges that face the cattle industry in Georgia. This committee will work with the Georgia Beef Board to support Beef Quality Assurance programming in Georgia. The committee will provide input and leadership, in cooperation with the Legislative Committee, on issues such as national animal traceability, bio-security, and animal activism.
Events Committee
Chaired by the President-Elect and shall be responsible for planning and execution of annual GCA Convention, Summer Conference, Region Roundups, and the Georgia Beef Expo or other events as deemed appropriate by the Executive Committee.
Production & Marketing Committee
Responsible for issues and policy related to production and marketing. Includes educating producers and promoting existing affiliated programs focused on cattle marketing.
Media and Communications Committee
Responsible for magazine, web, and other GCA communication outlets. Work with other committees to develop effective communication tools and messaging.
Producer Development Committee
Responsible for providing support, counsel and stability to GJCA, YCC, and GCWA in their program, structure and activities.
Legislative Committee
Responsible for legislative, regulatory, and judicial issues related to the beef cattle industry. Shall be primarily responsible for representing GCA interests on the state and national level. Responsible for providing guidance for the organization’s lobbying activities.
Executive Committee
Responsible for general management, supervision and control of the Association and its affairs and shall make all rules and regulations not inconsistent with law or with GCA Bylaws. Guides members, officers, employees, and agents of the Association.
Tour Committee
Responsible for organizing an annual cattle industry focused tour for GCA members. Tours will seek to be educational, entertaining, affordable, and original.
Awards Committee
Responsible for reviewing award and scholarship applications and selecting recipients of any said awards that are subjective in nature (not based on membership #s). Excludes Hall of Fame nominees which are sent directly to the GCA Executive Committee.
Region Vice-Presidents
They are responsible for representing the membership in their respective regions on
the Board of Directors and are expected to attend all board meetings. They shall also be responsible for communicating and carrying out the objectives of the association as stipulated in the Strategic
Plan and in conjunction with the appropriate committee, the Executive Vice President, and the Association staff.
YCC Region Representatives
Members 18-40 years of age who work to develop programs for the members in their age range. Region representatives are responsible for directing the work of the Young Cattlemen’s Council and serve a 2-year term. Meetings are monthly via zoom, sometimes more frequently if needed.
GCWA Board of Directors
Serves on the Georgia CattleWomen’s Association officer team to carry out the works of GCWA.
