Executive Vice President

Georgia Cattlemen's Association



Provides staff leadership for GBB and GCA insuring all organizational efforts align with Mission Statements and Strategic Plans according to operating policy. Selected applicant will be the primary voice for Georgia's cattle industry in the media, legislative and regulatory arenas. Provide leadership and support for all local chapters, GCA committees and councils. Serve as cattle industry liaison to industry partners.



  • Develop legislative strategies and lobby on behalf of GA’s cattle industry in the legislative and regulatory arena

  • Provide leadership of member recruitment and retention programs.

  • Work proactively for the benefit of the cattle industry with ag industry partners including but not limited to: Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia AgriBusiness Council, Georgia Livestock Markets, Georgia Milk Producers, UGA, NCBA and the Cattlemen’s Beef Board.

  • Work with Vice President of Operations to propose annual budgets and plans of work.

  • Plan effective industry events including annual convention, summer conference, tour, etc.

  • Provide guidance for all organizational communications and serve as Editor of Georgia Cattleman monthly magazine.

  • Guide GCA leadership development initiatives including staff professional development, Board development, GCA Emerging Leaders Conference and Young Cattlemen's Council.

  • Represent the cattle industry at cattle and agriculture functions, trade shows and events.

  • Guide Georgia Beef Board’s program of beef promotion through consumer events, producer education and other public relations related events.

    Additionally, candidate will contribute to completion of other Association pertinent projects and tasks as they arise and are appointed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, agribusiness or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience required

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Outgoing personality

  • Proficient in PowerPoint and MS Office programs

  • Willingness to travel weekly, both in and out of state

  • Passionate about the cattle industry

  • Self motivated and responsible

  • Committed to team development and leadership
