Director of Association Services

Georgia Cattlemen's Association


Lead staff member for Association Services to include the areas of association promotion and membership marketing, allied industry support, magazine revenue support, GCA junior members and Young Cattlemen's Council. GCA operates in a team environment both in the office and the field. All employees are expected to contribute to the team effort of advancing the GCA mission. GCA staff must project a positive attitude and image of the organization and the beef industry.

Specific Responsibilities:

Membership Services

  • Provide oversight and general management of member recruitment, retention initiatives and other programs.
  • Attend local chapter meetings and provide informative updates on industry topics as needed
  • Assist with the execution of GCA policy and legislative priorities on the local, state and national level
  • Lead the development of a Membership Marketing Plan and follow through on implementation and execution.
  • Provide staff support for the Membership & Services Committee
  • Work with Regional Vice Presidents to develop effective membership programs
  • Develop training programs for local chapter leadership, Region VP's and new EC Members to insure that all state wide leaders are knowledgeable about GCA programs

Industry Support

  • Provide oversight and general management in the development of relationships with industry partners for resource generation.
  • Assist in sponsorship generation for the annual convention, summer conference, member tour and other sponsored events and programs.
  • Coordinate member discount programs provided by industry partners that increase member value and benefits.
  • Evaluate new opportunities for allied industry involvement that enhances revenue to the Association.
  • Assist in representing GCA at cattle industry functions, trade shows and events.

Young Producer Development

  • Provide staff leadership for GCA Young Cattlemen’s Council and GJCA
  • Assist in GCA’s leadership development initiatives including GCA Emerging Leaders Conference and Georgia Junior Cattlemen’s Association leadership team development.
  • Work with GCA Junior Cattlemen to provide innovative and educational activities

Communications Support

  • Manage social media accounts to reflect a positive image for GCA and all associated programs
  • Help with development of producer spotlights and other pertinent segments of the Georgia Cattleman Magazine
  • Develop new and emerging channels of communication between GCA, producers and consumers

Additionally, candidate will contribute to completion of other Association pertinent projects and tasks as they arise and are appointed.

Executive Vice President and Vice President of Operations of the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association

A successful candidate will need to posses the following abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, agribusiness or related fields
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Outgoing personality
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and MS Office programs
  • Willingness to travel, both in and out of state
  • Eager to learn and apply new knowledge
  • Self motivated and responsible
